THE Event Calendar 2008

The previous version of the event calendar set already in function and content new standards in the national and international sailing scene. With a few thousand visitors per month, the event calendar is the most visited page at the DWSV website. The new event calendar will screw up the standards higher.

Functions of the new Event Calendar are:

Language: The Event Calendar will be multilingual, more then 10 languages. The language setting of the user will be automatically recognized to the language of the visitor. For non-existing languages, the language will be in English. Visitors can also manually choose another language (placed at top left corner).

Font size: The user can change the font size in accordance with own needs between small, medium and large.

Time Period: You can choose any time period (starting from 01.01.2006) as you like. Click to the check box and choose the time period from and till, then press Filter.

Titel: Individual selection from titles. You can use % as place holder, i.e. efpt% will show all efpt events, %PWA% will show all PWA events, %championship% will show all Championship(s) etc.

Location: Shows the events at the selected location. I.e. you would like to see all events in Mondello Sicily. Click to the location drop down menu, type “M” until you see Mondello, click Mondello and then click to Filter.

Organiser: Shows all events organized by the selected organiser. Filter process is the same as described at Location

Country: Shows all events in the selected country. Multiple selections are possible. I.e. Country ESP and slalom or GER and Techno 293 and RS:X etc.

Classes: Possibility for all and/or class selections.

National / International: Selects for National and/or International. I.e. Country: GER + National + Raceboard 7.5 shows all national Raceboard events only in Germany or ESP + International shows all international events in Spain etc.

Save my Selection: You can save your favourite selections, so that you don’t need to type again by every visit your selection again (not finished yet).

Print list: Prints your selection (not finished yet).

Up and down sorting: After your selection is done, you can sort every column within your selection up or down. I.e. starting with the earliest or latest date, Title, Country, Organiser etc. by clicking to the underlined column title.

Online-Registration: At present only possible for races in Germany. Generates registration confirmation emails to the racer, organisation and DWSV. For other events you have the possibility to ad a link to the according registration page. I.e. IWA events etc.

Links to Wind- and Weather forecasts at the event location: When you click to the location name at the second column within your selection you get the Wind- and Weather forecasts (by Windguru forecasts you can also see the according Google-Map from the location).

Links to Notice of Race, Results, Photos, Videos, Registration and other information’s are as usual at the bright column in the middle.

New ideas to improve the event calendar or bug reports are welcome. Please do not hesitate to send me an email.

The event calendar shall cover all major events also in your country. I am looking for county/region/tour representatives who would like to enter their event information’s into the event calendar.
